Hebrews 3:1
Mighty Servants of God. We call the days from Palm Sunday to Easter ‘Holy Week.’ These eight days lead Jesus from the heights of public acclamation and through the depths of unjust judgment and suffering, culminating in glorious resurrection. What sustained Jesus through these days of intense pressure? The New Testament gives us glimpses of intimate fellowship with God and trusted friends, solitude, intense prayer, and a flow of Old Testament Scriptures through Jesus’ thoughts. Under intense pressure, Jesus didn’t question God’s presence or purpose, He strengthened Himself by staying closely connected to the Father and the disciples.
Therefore, holy brothers and sisters, who share in the heavenly calling, fix your thoughts on Jesus, whom we acknowledge as our apostle and high priest.—Hebrews 3:1
Pray: Dear God, seasons of leadership—at home, at work, at church, in our communities—can bring great stress. Strengthen us by Your Spirit during these times. Keep us connected to You. We pray in Jesus’ name, amen.
