Colossians 1:1-2

Mighty Servants of God. “This letter is from Paul, chosen by the will of God to be an apostle of Christ Jesus, and from our brother Timothy. We are writing to God’s holy people in the city of Colosse, who are faithful brothers and sisters in Christ. May God our Father give you grace and peace.” Colossians 1:1-2

Paul was certain of God’s call in his life, even as he wrote from a place of imprisonment. When we know who we are in Christ Jesus, our circumstances may shape the out working of our calling, but they do not keep us from accomplishing all that God wants to do through us. Due to his imprisonment, rather than simply traveling and speaking in person to churches, Paul wrote letters that have since become part of the New Testament. His commitment in adversity has blessed millions through the millennia.

Prayer: God, keep us confident in Your ability to work out Your purposes in our lives. Use us to encourage others in challenging circumstances. In Jesus’ name, amen.
