John 1:12-13

Mighty Servants of God. “Yet to all who did receive him, to those who believed in his name, he gave the right to become children of God—children born not of natural descent, nor of human decision or a husband’s will, but born of God.” John 1:12-13

Have you ever known anyone who had a hard time receiving gifts? Whether an expression of gratitude or the offer of help, some people have a hard time receiving. They prefer to be on the giving side of things, perhaps so they won’t be indebted to anyone, even God. Through Jesus, God offers a new heart, real life, and the freedom to be more than we ever imagined we could be.

Prayer: God, I am by nature self-centered, and I cannot be the person or the leader I want to be unless I receive a new heart from You. Thank You that Jesus came to serve me at my point of need, and that He made the way for me to become Your child. Help me to live as Your child today, as Jesus did. In His name, Amen.
