Luke 18:32-33

Mighty Servants of God. How can there be any good in suffering? From a human point of view, suffering is the exact opposite of what we long for in life. Yet we see Jesus’ acceptance of suffering as part of His leadership mandate. He knew that accomplishing God’s plan could not come without personal cost. His whole life had led to this moment, the hour of His passion, when the greatness and goodness of God would be revealed through suffering.

“He will be delivered over to the Gentiles. They will mock him, insult him and spit on him; they will flog him and kill him. On the third day he will rise again.”—Luke 18:32-33

Prayer: Lord, we humble ourselves before You. The cost You willingly endured for us brings us to our knees. Our eyes are on You. Oh, how You love us, that You would suffer to bring us life. We are silent before Your cross. Amen.
